Hello everyone!
The title of my blog today is not only a thought that occurred to me but something I actually have witnessed recently.
I have never understood why someone would choose brokenness over wholeness, a victim mentality over victory. I have often wondered what they could possibly be getting from remaining broken. This has always been so sad to me.
A ministry friend and leader from my church hit the nail on the head yesterday as to the why. He said it is in their identity or how they see themselves. No one has every told them any differently so they only see themselves from one frame of reference, a victim and a broken person. They don't know they can be anything else or act any other way.
Our identity and how we see ourselves is everything! It determines the choices we make, for good or bad. It determines who we let into our lives. It can even determine our future.
How do you see yourself today? Do you think you are worthy of love? Do you think you are worthy of hope? Do you think you are worthy and deserve good things?
I can tell you that you are worthy of all of those things! You are worthy because Jesus died and rose again to give you those things. You are worthy to Him! Nothing can take that from you and no one and no circumstance can take you from Him! You are precious to Him, even if you have never been precious or worthy in anyone else's eyes. They don't matter anymore. What they said does not matter aymore. What He says is true!
In Jeremiah 31:3 Jesus says; "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
Ephesians 2:13; But now [at this very moment] in Christ Jesus you who once were [so very] far away [from God] have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
You are His and He is yours! He determines who you are, not anyone else around you. You do not have to be broken, you do not have to be a victim. You can be a victor! You can be whole because He has made you whole!
Test Him in this and see for yourselves!
Love,
Elizabeth
